What is Groundhog Day?
Groundhog Day, is a popular tradition inthe United States. On this day the
groundhog, comes out of his hole after
hibernation and looks for his shadow. If
he sees the shadow he is scared by it
and goes back into his
home for 6 more
weeks of winter. If
he doesn’t see is shadow he stays out of his
home because spring is coming.
In America there is one groundhog, which
predicts the weather on this day. His name is
Phil. He lives in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
There is a group of men, who take care of Phil,
called the Inner Circle. Phil can only speak
Groundhogese to tell us our prediction. The
President of the Inner Circle can understand
Groundhogese. He talks to Phil and tells the rest
of the people what Phil predicted.
